Its robust and simple-to-use IceTag3D activity monitors are specifically designed for use with livestock in the harsh farm environment. The IceTag system uses accelerometer sensor technology to provide a greater range and depth of data on animal activity and behaviour than generic pedometers. It is being used by leading animal scientists worldwide to enable novel research into animal health and welfare. The system was originally conceived for use with dairy cows, but is also currently in use with other livestock including beef cows, pigs, sheep and goats.

Dairy farmers will soon be able to benefit from the power of the IceTag3D technology and the associated research. A  dedicated dairy farmer system is under development for use in dairy cow fertility management, mobility scoring and the identification of lameness.
